New Year’s Restrictions In Delhi For New Year’s Eve.

Rules and restrictions to be followed on New Year’s Eve in Delhi.

In several metro cities in the country the night curfew orders have been put into place in view of the coronavirus pandemic- and just like the Christmas and Diwali nights this year’s New Year Eve will see strict rules being implemented in public places.

The Delhi police in New Delhi have warned the public against any public events or terrace parties being held on New Year’s Eve (NYE) and without proper police permission no functions will be considered legal and the organizers of such events will have to face penalties. In the Delhi NCR(National Capital Region) such as Ghaziabad-Noida (UP), Faridabad-Gurgaon (Haryana) the rules can vary as per the state's jurisdictions.

The district administration in Noida and the police department have said there should not be more than 100 people at a venue at NYE parties. The directives by the UP government suggest that only 50% of the capacity of a closed venue with 100 people shall be allowed at one time. Alok Singh the Commissioner of Police said, “Permissions for organizing new year’s program will have to be obtained from the local deputy commissioner of police’s office and the organizers will have to provide their details like name, address and phone numbers. The maximum capacity of open spaces will be 40% whereas other arrangements like thermal scanning, sanitization, mask wearing and social distancing etc., will be needed to be followed.”

In Delhi all the owners of hotels, restaurants and clubs organizing events on December 31 in Gautam Buddh Nagar (GTB Nagar) will have to acquire permissions from the district magistrate or the Commissioner of Police and also give an expected number of the total guests expected at the events.
