Nine dead, several injured as bus collided with SUV in UP

Accident between SUV and roadways took place near Pilibhit District leaving several injured and dead

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath has expressed his deepest condolences regarding tragic accident that happened in Puranpur Police Station area of UP’s Pilibhit district. At least 9 people have died and 34 are injured when a UP roadways bus collided with SUV on Saturday morning.
“In an early morning accident involving a jeep and roadways bus, which took place in Puranpur area of the district, nine persons were killed, while over 30 persons injured,” said Jaiprakash Yadav, Superintendent of Police, Pilibhit.The accident happened near Baari Bujhia village in Sehramau north area of Pilibhit district in Uttar Pradesh. SP Pilibhit Jaiprakash added “ A roadways bus, heading towards Delhi from Lucknow, collided with a Balero coming from the direction of Puranpur. Nine of the survivors were referred to district hospital in critical condition. We are ensuring the best possible treatment for them.”

Police officials said that the accident site is approximately 40 kilometers away from the district headquar

A press statement from the state government in hindi said, “Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji has expressed grief on the tragic death of people in a road accident in Pilibhit district. He has expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the dead, praying to god for peace of the departed soul.”

The Chief Minister has instructed the officers of the district administration to provide proper treatment to the injured people in this accident, the press statement added.
