Nirbhaya-Ek Pahal programme launched in UP

The programme comes under Mission Shakti and will benefit around 75,000 women to get loans at cheaper rate.


On Wednesday the Uttar Pradesh government launched Nirbhaya - Ek Pahal programme which comes under Mission Shakti, phase 3 in Lucknow. 

This programme will benefit around 75,000 women by providing them loans at a cheap rate. As per the information, Yogi Adityanath informed that "75,000 women will get connected with the state banks, get loans at cheaper interest rate and will be able to avail benefits of state business under the PM Mudra Yojana within 3 months." CM also said that there was an atmosphere of chaos before 2017. He said families used to be apprehensive of their daughters and sisters venturing out of the house. "We first introduced anti-Romeo squads to combat the issue. Through our initiatives, we achieved many goals," said the Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, the state government on 14th September provided 91,691 women free legal advice counselling and also provided basic rights awareness through its one-stop centres under Mission Shakti.
