No plans to close schools for now: Gujarat Health Minister

Omicron fear!


The rise in the cases of Omicron is still concerning across the country, the schools and educational institutions are reopened in the state. Also, the students are being tested positive for Covid. 


Gujarat Health and family welfare minister, Nimisha suthar said, there's no plan to close down schools, it will be done only if the situation so necessitates. "The state government taking necessary precautions in view of the Covid-19 numbers but has no plans to close down schools until the situation necessitates" 


The Covid cases in the country are concerning. Day after another one or the other state reports a few cases of new variant Omicron. Omicron has spread its wings all across the country, which has led to travel bans, new rules, and restrictions. Also due to the arrival of the upcoming Christmas festival and new year the public gathering places have been restricted.  Few states have imposed a ban in some respective places to curb people from getting infected with the disease.


As per the information given by the state health ministry, Gujarat has 571 active cases of COVID in the state till Sunday Evening. The bulletin mentions, around 55 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which took the overall tally to 8,17,715.
