"No record of farmers death due to protest, no financial assistance"

Government tells to Parliament


 

Union Agriculture Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar has informed the parliament that the government has no record of the deaths of the farmers who camped out at the borders of Delhi, Tikri, Ghazipur, and other borders.


 

The farmers have been protesting since one year for the farm laws implemented by the Central Government, after which it was Repealed on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. The government repealed the laws. Many farmers lost their lives while protesting, many lost their lives in brutal fights for the laws, some died due to chilling colds, and many other reasons. 


 

A statement came, mentioning that"No record of farmers' death due to protest, no financial assistance says the government to the parliament. As a reply to the weather, the centre will grant financial assistance to the deceased farmer's family.


 

According to the statement, agriculture minister, Narendra Singh Tomar said, "ministry of agriculture has no record in the matter and hence the question doesn't arise."


As per the report, over 700 farmers perished against the farm laws at singhu, Gazipur, tikri borders since November 22. The deaths were due to harsh weather, illness from unhygienic condition, and suicide.
