Non-bailable warrants issued against activists Jacob, Shantanu in 'toolkit' case

Non- bailable warrants were issued on Monday against activists Nikita Jacob and Shantanu.

Followed by climate activist Disha Ravi's arrest, two more activists are under Delhi Police's scrutiny. Non- bailable warrants have been issued against Nikita Jacob and Shantanu in the Greta Thunberg's 'toolkit' case. It is alleged that an organisation, Poetic Justice Foundation which is a Khalistani group and is allegedly behind the 'toolkit' shared by the climate campaigner Greta Thunberg had contacted Nikita Jacob to organise a "tweet storm" ahead of the Republic Day protest by farmers, said the police NDTV reported. The fresh warrants were issued on Monday after Ms Ravi, a college graduate was arrested and brought to Delhi from Bengaluru over conspiracy and sedition charges.

She was produced before the magistrate without her counsel and was taken into custody of five days. "I did not make Toolkit. We wanted to support the farmers. I edited two lines on February 3," said Disha in reference to the toolkit that was tweeted by Ms Thunberg on February 3 to support farmers in their agitation against three farm laws. Ms Thunberg later deleted the tweet and posted an updated toolkit.

Several opposition leaders and activists condemned the arrest of Disha including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. “Arrest of 21 yr old Disha Ravi is an unprecedented attack on Democracy. Supporting our farmers is not a crime," Mr Kejriwal tweeted. "Completely atrocious! This is unwarranted harassment and intimidation. I express my full solidarity with Disha Ravi," Congress's Jairam Ramesh tweeted.
