North MCD sets Jan 2022 deadline for Chandni Chowk parking with 2,300 car space

The Chandni Chowk’s Gandhi Maidan parking project ought to complete the project by January 2022 as per The North Delhi Municipal Corporation order. The multi-level parking project, spread over 4.5 acres, has a capacity of 2338 cars, as per the information given by Delhi Municipal Corporation Jogi Ram Jain. The Gandhi Maidan parking which is close to Chandni Chowk Metro Station can fit 650 cars. Meanwhile, the new structure has six levels including three underground floors, One floor will be reserved for commercial activities.

The complex will be included with customer facilities such as CCTV, lifts for passengers, and a fire-fighting system. , the facility will be included in traders in nearby markets also. The parking project was delayed for a long time in which the case was taken to city court in 2018 .The process was stuck as the tenure of a standing committee, before which the bid to finalize the project had to be placed. A further deadline was decided in September 2021 , the delay is still due to construction work due to the pandemic. The corporation is hoping to complete the project  before the elections.
