DoT to pay license fees in some circles for the fourth quarter of last year, Vodafone, Idea ltd. (VIL) has been issued a show cause notice. Sources gave this information. The notice issued by the department on April 7 stated that the company has signed National Long Distance License Fee with Bihar, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh (East), Odisha for the fourth quarter of 2020-21. Has not paid till 25 March.

An e-mail sent to Vodafone Idea regarding this could not be answered. Even though sources linked with the company said that the license fee and spectrum usage charges for the quarter ended March 2021 have been paid last month. If there is any difference in payment, it will also be completed within the stipulated time.

As per the copy of the notice present with PTI, it states that action should not be taken against the company for not fulfilling the relevant provisions of the license agreement till April 12, 2021. Telecom companies have to pay license fees on a quarterly basis every financial year. The license fee for the first three quarters has to be paid within 15 days of the end of the respective quarter.
