In Turkey and Syria, according to the latest figures almost 50,000 people have killed from both countries by earthquakes. 

 

Number of people died in Turkey alone, 44,218 due to deadly earthquake, the country's disaster and emergency management authority (AFAD) announced on Friday, death toll in Syria was 5,914.

 

 On February 6, the first earthquake hit southeastern Turkey and north Syria measured as magnitude of 7.7 and second, little later, measured as 7.6.

 

 According to the AFAD the country has been rocked by more than 9,000 since then. Almost 240,000 rescue workers, along with volunteers, continue to work in the 11 quake-hit provinces in Turkey. In recent days there have been no reports of survivors being reduced. 

 

In Turkey alone 530,000 people have been evacuated from the disaster area and the Turkish government has stated that 173,000 buildings have been recorded as collapsed or damaged, along with more than 1.9 million people taking refuge in temporary shelters or hotels and public facilities. 

 

In Turkey 20 million people have been affected by the quake, however the United Nations estimates 8.8 million people have affected in Syria.
