Nursery admissions to start today, both school and parents ready

Online registration begins, admission to 1700 nursery schools in Delhi by 4 March

The race for nursery admission starts today. Forms of all private schools can be filled online from today. In view of COVID-19, this time schools have given the facility to parents to fill and submit the online form, although the admission will be offline. On Wednesday, many schools uploaded their admission criteria and 100-point formula on their website. Many schools did not upload this until the evening. However, parents will see the Admission Criteria of almost all schools on the website till Thursday, as the Directorate of Education gave time till February 17 to upload it. Parents will also be able to see the admission criterion and number of seats of all schools on the website of the Directorate. The full list is expected to be uploaded on the website of the Directorate by Thursday. Parents can fill the form for nursery by 4 March. The first admission list and waiting list will be released on 20 March. After this, the second admission list will come on 25 March.

Most of the schools have given maximum number of distance / Neighborhood in their 100-point system on the old trend, i.e., the more children the school passes, the higher the chances of admission. But distance alone (aerial / google map) will not determine this, as the number of students applying to the nursery is very high and the seats are very less. Especially in 100 150 well-known schools built on DDA Land, there is a lot of fighting for one seat each.

Many criteria in admission formula: All the schools in DPS have given priority to the children of Neighborhood, but in each of its branches, the points are very important for the admission of points of alumni and siblings. Deeksha Kheda, principal of DPS, Mathura Road, says the general category has 130 seats. We will give 70 points for Neighborhood. Students living in 0–7 km aerial distance have been assigned 70 points, 60 for 7.1 km to 10 km and 50 points for 12 km above. Apart from this, if the child's brother or sister is already in school, he will be given 15 and if any parent or both parents are from this school, then he will also be given 15 points. At the same time, Jyoti Arora, Principal of Mount Abu School, Rohini, says, we give priority to the children of the neighborhood every year and this time too 85 points will be for Neighborhood. 85 points for 0 to 6 km, 80 for 6 to 8 km and 75 points for above. This breakup of distance depends on the area of the school. If there is no residential area around the school, then the distance area is also covered in the distance. Apart from this, 10-point siblings and 5 alumni staff will get children. Our school has 88 open seats.
