At Rashtriya Smriti Sthal, PM and president paid tribute to the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Sadaiv Atal on his 96th birthday on Friday. Union ministers including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman and Piyush Goyal were also present at Sadaiv Atal – a memorial ground near Rashtriya Smriti Sthal built in the memory of the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also release a letter entitled ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Parliament: A Handbook of Remembrance’ in Parliament on Friday in honor of his 96th birthday. Published by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, the letter focuses on life and work including the speeches of the former Prime Minister. The book also contains some rare pictures of parliament from his public life.
The letter is expected to be released at a ceremony to be held at Parliament's Central Hall on December 25, which is also regarded as Good Governance Day in honor of the Bharat Ratna award holder. He was also honoured with Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant Award for the Leading Parliament of 1994.
