On the last day of Chhath Puja, devotee dipped in River Yamuna

After the Yamuna dispute, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari denied the orders of DDMA.

New Delhi: On the last of the Purchali's festival - Chhath Puja, the devotees finally dipped into the toxic foamed River Yamuna. The devotees made an offering to Sun God.

It happened a day after when the Delhi HC dismissed the plea decision to prohibit the devotees from performing Chhath Puja at the banks of the Yamuna river.

The oppositions have allegedly blamed the Delhi Govt. for not maintaining the condition of the River Yamuna.

This tussle between BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party) and AAP (Aam Admi Party), resulted in provoking the devotees.

District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) order prohibited devotees from performing the rituals at the ghats of Yamuna to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

On November 10, According to the official of Delhi Govt., "Delhi government has deployed 15 boats to remove the foam that is forming in the Yamuna due to increasing pollution."

River Yamuna is facing a hazardous increase in ammonia and high phosphate elements due to the dispersal of toxic substances like detergents from industries. Chlorine helps in cleansing the water pollutants but due to the high level of ammonia, with will react to more hazardous solutions which are toxic for living organisms.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Wednesday reached the Yamuna Ghat in Sonia Vihar and said that he will not follow the orders, adding that nobody can stop the people from performing the rituals.

NJP MP visited the Yamuna Ghat on the third day of Chhath. Denying to follow the DDMA order prohibiting celebrations of Chhath Puja at public places due to the threat of COVID-19.
