OnePlus users are reporting issues following OxygenOS 12 update

OnePlus released the Oxygen OS 12 update for the OnePlus 9 & 9 Pro

OnePlus recently released the OxygenOS 12 update based on Android 12 for the users of the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. However, the users have reported issues with the newly released update.

Several OnePlus users have taken it to Twitter, Reddit and OnePlus forums to show their disappointment with the OxygenOS 12 update.

“Android 12 for the OnePlus 9 Pro could use a little more work and little ColorOS if I do say so myself.” A user tweeted.

Users are reporting that it is littered with bugs. Not only that, the new version seems to have removed some functions too.

OnePlus forum member listed several issues he observed on his OnePlus 9. According to him, the update has broken the task manager feature, which can no longer close all apps in the background. WhatsApp users have noticed that they are unable to use WhatsApp Web. The default phone app on Oxygen OS 12 is different from the previous OS, and it no longer offers the option for call recording.

OxygenOS 12 went through numerous beta tests before the stable version was made available to the users. But still, users are facing problems with the update.

A community expert even shared the detailed step by step tutorial on how to switch back to OxygenOS 11 from OxygenOS12.

The OxygenOS was released on December 7 in India. It promised a new look and layout along with features like enhanced dark mode.

OnePlus says it has optimised the layout, adjusted the settings directory, and improved some functions. Here are some of the frequently used features that have been changed:

·        The "Parallel Apps" feature had its name changed to "App cloner", and can be found under Settings.

·        The "Wireless emergency alerts" setting has been moved to Settings.

·        You can now find the "Do not disturb" settings under Settings - Sound & vibration - Do not disturb.

·        "Storage" and "System updates" have been moved to "About phone", with "System updates" being renamed to "Up to date”.

·        The "Wireless emergency alerts" setting has been moved to Settings - Safety & emergency - Wireless emergency alerts.
