Online gambling and online games has banned in Tamil Nadu. After state governor RN Ravi has approved the bill. The ban covers rummy and poker.

 

The Governor Ravi has given his assent to the anti-online gambling bill, after several hours Chief Minister M K Stalin states in the assembly announced that the resolution bill was passed and will have a good outcome. "The gazette notification will be issued today," he added. In Tamil Nadu the anti-online gambling legislation is set to come into force.

 

Any form of advertising promoting online gambling and or showing online games of chance with money or other stakes is prohibited in Tamil Nadu. 

 

In Tamil Nadu, fine up to Rs 5,000 will impose on any person indulging in online gambling or online games which  have money will be punished.

 

If any person provides online gambling or online games of poker and rummy with money will face strict punishment with imprisonment which may extend to three years and fine up to Rs 10 lakh or both.
