Operation 'Ajay' Successfully Repatriates 235 Indians from Israel

Second Charter Flight Arrives Amid Ongoing Conflict

India initiated 'Operation Ajay' on October 11 to repatriate its citizens stranded in Israel during the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Under 'Operation Ajay,' the second charter flight bringing back Indian citizens stranded in Israel due to the ongoing conflict landed in New Delhi from Tel Aviv on a Saturday morning. The flight carried a total of 235 Indian nationals, which included two infants.

Just a day prior to this, 212 Indian citizens were evacuated from Israel in the initial repatriation mission of 'Operation Ajay.' The first flight departed from Ben Gurion Airport in Israel on a Thursday evening and arrived in New Delhi on Friday morning. The passengers were reportedly selected on a 'first-come, first-served' basis.

'Operation Ajay' began on October 11 to bring back Indians stranded in Israel. This was needed because airlines stopped regular flights to and from Israel when the war started on October 7. Special charter flights are used to bring Indians home, and if necessary, Indian Navy ships may be used too.
