PAID COVID 19 TEST FOR THE TRAVELLERS FLYING OUT OF DELHI AIRPORT

Travelers flying out of Delhi can now get themselves tested for covid-19 at the Delhi Airport. The airport operator said on Tuesday that, "both International, as well as domestic passengers, can avail for the  Service until now the facility was only available for incoming international passengers".

 Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) stated that The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) has set up a covid-19 sample collection both in front of gate number 8 and the international departure of terminal 3 (T3). The booth was set up on October 28 in Association with  Diagnostic Center Private Limited and (ICMR) Indian Council of Medical Research approved laboratory which is currently associated with Delhi government to test covid-19.

Rajat Arora director of the center said that will increase manpower of lab technician at the facility in Delhi airport as the lab is expecting more number of samples in coming days the facility will be beneficial to those who were taking international or domestic flight but don't have an RT - PCR test result of covid-19. Passengers can come to the airport around 6 hours early and can get their Covid test. Then on the spot, they have to pay around rupees 2,400 for the test and will get the result in 4 to 6 hours.

DIAL said that its counter can conduct total 40 to 50 registrations and sample collection booths can collect approximately 120 to 130 samples in an hour, the lab will get a disclaimer sign from the passengers at the time of testing where the passengers agreed to take full responsibility to follow all the government-mandated laws including quarantine in case they test positive.
