Parliament Monsoon Session 2021: Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha adjourned till 12 pm and 2 pm respectively

TMC MP Sukhendu Sekhar Ray has submitted a notice under Rule 267 in the Rajya Sabha and sought discussion on the Pegasus report.The Parliament Monsoon Session continued to witness opposition's uproar and sloganeering on the second day as the opposition parties tried to raise the issue of the Pegasus report in both Houses. Amid chaos in the Parliament, Rajya Sabha has been adjourned till 12 pm whereas Lok Sabha has been adjourned till 2 pm on Tuesday.

Members of the opposition parties including Congress, DMK, TMC and RJD shouted slogans such as "snooping" government while some of the members descended into the well and raised placards. Some even demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, reported The Indian Express. New IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is scheduled to make a statement regarding the report which according to the media reports has "compromised phone data of some persons including journalists" after 2 pm in Rajya Sabha. In this session, several Bills are tabled for discussion in the Parliament.
