Peaceful Pan-India ‘Chakka Jam’ : Rakesh Tikait

Chakka Jam’ to held peacefully in pan-India says Rakesh Tikait

The Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait ahead of the February 6 ‘chakka jam’ by the protesting farmers said on Friday that the protest which will be held nationwide will be peaceful and added that there will be no ‘chakka jam’ in Delhi.

Tikait also said “We have been protesting peacefully and the ‘chakka jam’ will also be held peacefully across the country on February 6. There will be no chakka jam in Delhi. The farmers who are unable to join us will hold chakka jam at their respective places.” He added “People who get stuck will be given food and water, we will peacefully talk to them and explain our point.” Tikait had earlier told various news reporters that the chakka jam will be there for three hours everywhere outside Delhi.

Farmers have been protesting in the borders of Delhi since November 26 last year against the three newly enacted farm laws by the union government. The introduction of these laws have put fears in the farmers that the new farm laws will leave them in the mercy of the big corporate and hence they are demanding a complete repeal of the laws by protesting peacefully.
