Petrol price is a big problem in the Country: Nitin Gadkari while inaugurating the first LNG plant in Nagpur. He said consumer will have a choice to choose between petrol or ethanol.


Road transport and highways minister, Nitin Gadkari on (July 11) while inaugurating India's first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facility plant in Nagpur, emphasised and said "The petrol price is a big problem in Country and people are facing a crucial problem and agitating for that" he also said that "consumer will now have the choice at the petrol pump weather he wants petrol or ethanol."

He talked about the importance of alternate biofuels for diversification of agriculture towards the energy and power sector. He said, "In our economy, we are spending  Rs 8 lakh crores for the import of petrol, diesel and petroleum products which is a big challenge. "It also said that they have designed a policy that encourages the development of important substitute cost-effective pollution-free and ingredients ethanol, bio CNG,LNG and hydrogen fuels.He also said, the decision will be taken in three months making it mandatory for automobile manufacturers particularly four-wheelers and two-wheelers to take flex engines.He said several Countries like the US ,Canada and Brazil already have them and the cost of the vehicles remains the same whether it is petrol or flex engine, said the Ministry.
