Pfizer- BioNTech has now been approved by Bahrain, the 2nd country after Britain to secure the Vaccine

After giving Pfizer approval Bahrain becomes second country to get the vaccination.


Bahrain announced on Friday that it had approved the urgent use of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus, becoming the second country after Britain to use the drug.

"The approval of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine will add even more value to the national response to Covid-19," said Mariam al-Jalahma, CEO of the National Health Regulatory Authority, according to a statement from the official Bahrain News Agency (BNA).Manama did not specify when the vaccine would be launched by US pharmaceutical company Pfizer and its German counterpart BioNTech.Britain on Wednesday said it had approved the Covid-19 vaccine for normal use, with plans to launch it next week.

In November, the small Gulf state of Bahrain approved the use of China's Sinopharm vaccine for top health workers.Bahrain has so far recorded more than 87,000 cases of coronavirus novels, including 341 deaths."This accreditation is a goal we have been working on since we first announced that science will succeed," said Lindsey Dietschi, who represents Pfizer in the Gulf, according to BNA.
