PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna , to give Free 5kg Foodgrain For Next 2 Months

Today , Prime Minister led Narendra Modi announced that Centre will provide free 5 kg food grain under the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for the next two months that is May and June. The move is a repeat of last year's exercise during the pandemic, is set to benefit around 80 crore people in tough time of mutant virus.

The Centre government in a statement said "In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to the poor, government of India has decided to provide free food grains to 80 crore beneficiaries, on the same pattern as last year's PM Garib Kalyan Yojana," it also added that, it is important that the poor people of the country have food support by the Centre government when the country is facing the fourth wave of Covid-19.

The Centre government plans to spend more than Rs 26,000 crore on this initiative. The country is indulge in fourth wave of mutant virus and several state governments have imposed various restrictions along with covid-19 protocols to cut the chain of virus transmission among the people.
