"PM is not a sympathizer of farmers but a seeker of the vote," says: Cong. Leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra

Farm Bill repealed within 2 hours without discussion, Cong. Leader Ms. Priyanka alleged the PM as a vote-seeker

New Delhi: Farm law was repealed in the Winter Sessions yesterday. It was the faster bill that was passed within 2 hours but without discussion. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the repeal of the farm laws without debate in Parliament on issues such as the demand for MSP and the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, alleging that he was "not a sympathizer of farmers" but a "seeker of votes".

The Congress leader showed her concern over the farmers who protested day and night for a year to get the three controversial laws repealed. But despite the Prime Minister's words being answerable to all the questions, the Modi Govt. avoided having discussions in the winter session.

In a tweet (in Hindi) of Cong. leader, Ms. Priyanka wrote, "700 farmers were martyred in the farmers' movement, their martyrdom was not spoken about in Parliament today, nor was it respected by paying tributes."

The struggle and martyrdom of countless farmers gave us the freedom due to which we got the Constitution, the Congress general secretary said.

Parliament proceedings were conducted without discussing the farm laws, the demand for MSP and the "Lakhimpur massacre", she said.

Priyanka Gandhi alleged, "Narendra Modi Ji, your words are hollow, you are not a sympathizer of farmers, you are a sympathizer of votes."

The Farm Laws Repeal Bill, 2021 was introduced in the Lok Sabha at 12.06 pm and passed at 12.10 pm. The house adjourned within seconds amid loud protests from the opposition benches. Quickly after, the Bill was cleared in the Rajya Sabha as well.

The Farm bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on the very first day of the 25-days long Winter Sessions in the Parliament.
