PM Modi addresses a rally in Assam
Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Assam today to address a rally at an event held in Sivasagar district. At the event there he also distributed land allotment certificates to indigenous people under a programme of the state government to one lakh beneficiaries. After the land ‘patta’ or allotment certificates were distributed by PM Modi to the beneficiaries he said, “it’s a matter of sadness that even after so many years of Independence, there are those in Assam who have yet not got recognition for their land.” The chief minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal and his government was also praised by PM Modi for ensuring that the indigenous people get their recognition.
At his address in the rally PM Modi said that the love given to him by the people of Assam has been a blessing for him and this love keeps bringing him back to Assam. The government of Assam today was giving recognition to the people who love Assam and are getting recognition for their lands and the PM said that he is very happy to be a part of this celebration as a huge task by the government is completed. Under CM Sonowal and his government lakhs of people who did not have papers of their lands now have them as they have worked towards ensuring that the people get their recognition mentioned PM Modi in his rally speech.
PM Modi said that all those people will now not only get their documentation and recognition but will also be getting all the benefits provided by the government which includes the PM KISAN Samman Nidhi programme which ensures monetary benefits under the scheme. The government of the state in the past 4.5 years worked to ensure development and progress in Assam by preserving the culture and heritage of the state commended PM Modi and he also added that in the last years under the Jan Dhan Bank around 1.75 crore bank accounts have been opened and a large number of beneficiaries are getting its benefits out of which most of them are women.
In the final statement by the prime minister he said that Assam is now in the path of fast and peaceful development with Bodo territorial issue being addressed. The infrastructures in Assam and other north eastern states are fast building and are connecting with the neighboring South Asian nations via roads and rails projects. Assam is the pedestal of the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat.’
