PM Modi Launches 'World Food India 2023' Mega Event Today

In New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially open the second edition of the grand food event, 'World Food India 2023,' with the inauguration scheduled for 10 am at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan.

 

Once again, the Prime Minister will distribute seed capital assistance to support over one lakh members of Self Help Groups, aimed at strengthening their initiatives.

 

The Prime Minister's Office states that this support aims to improve packaging and manufacturing quality, leading to better market prices for Self Help Groups.

 

The Prime Minister will also launch the 'Food Street' as a part of World Food India 2023, showcasing regional cuisines and royal culinary heritage. More than 200 chefs will participate in presenting traditional Indian cuisine, creating a unique culinary experience.

 

The event's objective is to spotlight India as the 'food basket of the world' and commemorate 2023 as the International Year of Millets.

 

The event will facilitate networking and business opportunities for various stakeholders in the agri-food sector, including government bodies, industry professionals, farmers, and entrepreneurs. CEO roundtables will emphasize investment and improving business ease.

 

The event will feature pavilions highlighting the innovation and strength of the Indian food processing industry.

 

The event will include 48 sessions covering diverse aspects of the food processing industry, with a focus on financial empowerment, quality assurance, and advancements in machinery and technology.

 

The event is set to welcome participants from 80+ countries, including CEOs of leading food processing companies. Additionally, it will host a Reverse Buyer Seller Meet, involving 1200+ overseas buyers from over 80 countries.

 

The Netherlands will be the partner country, and Japan will take the spotlight as the focus country for the event.
