Few More leaders Paid tribute to "Punjab Kesari" Lala Lajpat Rai!


On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a few more leaders paid tribute to Lala Lajpat Rai on his birth anniversary. Remembering the Punjab Kesari, as the freedom fighter was known, PM Modi said his story of bravery, struggle, and dedication in the freedom struggle will always be memorable for the countrymen.

 

According to the statement given by PM Modi he said, "Tributes to Punjab Kesari Lala Lajpat Rai on his birth anniversary. The story of his courage, struggle, and dedication in the freedom movement will always be remembered by the countrymen."

 

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu explained Punjab Kesari as a "passionate nationalist and fearless journalist".

 

According to the tweet, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted: “Humble tributes to prominent freedom fighter Punjab Kesari Lala Lajpat Rai Ji on his birth anniversary. He played a pivotal role during the independence movement. His courage and sacrifices shall inspire generations to come."

 

Lala Lajpat Rai, well known as Punjab Kesari was born on January 28, 1865, played a pivotal role in the Indian Independence movement. He was one of the three in the Lal Bal Pal trio namely Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, and Bipin Chandra Pal who were social reformers and freedom fighters who helped India gain independence from British rule. The three freedom fighters were strong advocates of the Swadeshi or home-rule movement. They also mobilised Indians against the first Partition of Bengal in 1905.

 

Lala Lajpat Rai took his last breath on November 17, 1928, He pioneered the formation of the Punjab National Bank. From studying in Lahore to being a pillar of nationalism in India, Rai had donned himself into many forms.
