PM Modi Pays Tribute To Social Reformer Jyotirao Phule

Champion of social justice!


On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi pays tribute to social reformer Jyotirao Phule on his birth anniversary. 

 

According to the statement PM Modi says, he was a “multifaceted personality who worked tirelessly for social equality, women empowerment and boosting education.” further he said, Phule is widely respected as a champion of social justice and a source of hope for countless people, he said.

 

Noting that the birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar, a key architect of the Constitution who like Phule came from the disadvantaged section of society and fought for social reforms, follows in a few days on April 14, the prime minister shared a clip of his "Mann ki Baat" broadcast in which he had paid tributes to them.

 

In a series of tweets, the Prime Minister said, "Mahatma Phule is widely respected as a champion of social justice and source of hope for countless people. He was a multifaceted personality who worked tirelessly for social equality, women empowerment, and boosting education. Tributes to him on his Jayanti."

 

Prime Minister had also mentioned Jyotiba Phule in his Mann Ki Baat programme where he had said that Mahatma Phule started schools for girls and raised his voice against female infanticide and also carried out campaigns to solve the water crisis.

 

Many other leaders and ministers paid their tribute on the Mark of the birth anniversary of the renowned social reformer. Ministers including Ashok Gehlot and Himanta  Biswa Sharma paid their tribute.
