PM Modi's Virtual Meeting to Review COVID-19 Situation in Delhi AND 7 Other States

On Tuesday, CM Kejriwal and PM Modi planned to discuss possible outcomes for COVID-19 issues.


With Delhi becoming the worst hit state of the Covid infections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had chaired a virtual meeting with Chief Ministers of the eight worst Covid-hit states to review the coronavirus scenario, discuss the doable outcomes of the increasing rates of COVID-19 cases within the country.

According to the conference, when Delhi hits a record of just about 121 deaths with 4,454 recent and active cases of COVID-19, the Chief Minister Kejriwal aforesaid that, "Delhi saw a peak of 8,600 cases on November 10 throughout the third wave. Since then cases and the quality rate has been on a gradual decline. We hope this trend continues."

The chief minister, however, took knowledge of the "severity" of the third wave that has seen a lot of deaths and hospitalisations since the surge started 5 weeks past.

"The high severity of the third wave is due to several factors. Pollution is a very important the issue," Mr Kejriwal said seeking the Prime Minister's intervention in eliminating the annual pollution spike caused by plant material, or "parali", burning in neighbouring states.

As per the reports, Chief Minister Kejriwal also assured that further 1,000 ICU beds ought to be reserved for Coronavirus patients in central government hospitals

The Central government has already assured of 750 ICU beds within the DRDO Hospital, that is being manned by doctors from the armed forces.
