PM Modi to inaugurate 'PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022

1 crore farmers to attend the program virtually!

On Monday, 17 October 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the two-day event 'PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022' at around 11:30 am at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi.

The event aims to bring together more than 13,500 farmers from across the country and around 1,500 agricultural start-ups, an official statement read.

More than 1 crore farmers from various institutions are expected to attend the virtual event. The Sammelan will also witness the participation of researchers, policy makers and other stakeholders.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Fertiliser and Chemicals Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of State for Fertilisers and Chemicals Bhagwanth Khuba, and Union Ministers of State for Agriculture Kailash Choudhary and Shobha Karandhlaje and other senior officials will participate in the event.

PM Modi will inaugurate 600 Pradan Mantri Kisan Samruddhi Kendra (PMKSK) under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

Under the scheme, the fertilizer retail shops in the country will be converted into PMKSK in a phased manner to cater to a wide variety of needs of the farmers.

More than 3 lakh retail fertilizer shops are planned to be converted into PMKSK.

During the event, the PM will launch Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Urvarak Pariyojana – One Nation One Fertilizer at 'PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022'. Under the scheme, the Prime Minister will launch Bharat Urea Bags, which will help companies market fertilizers under the single brand name which is “Bharat”.
