PM Modi To Meet ISRO Team

He will congratulate the scientists involved in Chandrayaan-3 Mission…


On Friday, 25 August 2023, the PM said that, after returning from Greece, He will head straight to Bengaluru, Karnataka on a pre-scheduled visit to meet scientists of the ISRO team involved in the Chandrayaan-3 Mission.

On Wednesday, at 06:04 pm in the evening, after a 40-day journey into space, the Chandrayaan-3 lander, 'Vikram', touched down on the uncharted lunar South Pole, making India the first country to do so.

Moreover, the PM joined the live telecast of the Chandrayaan-3 landing virtually from South Africa.

PM Modi said the Chandrayaan-3 mission created history by achieving a soft landing on the lunar surface and said "India is now on the moon".

"When we see such moments it makes us feel proud. This is the dawn of new India," he said.

"Humne dharti par sankalp kiya aur chand pe usse sakaar kiya...India is now on the moon," he added.

India also became only the fourth nation after the US, Russia, and China to successfully conduct a lunar landing mission.

The Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft put down the Vikram lander on the lunar surface, tilting to a horizontal position.

On July 14, the spacecraft was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh's Sriharikota on July 14.
