Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform the ground-breaking ceremony for a new parliament building most probably next week and inaugurate the new place of meeting by putting the first stepping stone, officials said.

The new building of parliament to be designed as a triangle in structure will be constructed close to the existing complex, and It will be constructed by Tata Projects Limited with a approx cost of Rs. 861.90 crore. Prominent officials said it is likely to be completed in a year's time. 

The new building will have a grand Constitution Hall to showcase India's democratic heritage, a lounge for members of Parliament, along will have library, multiple committee rooms, dining areas as well as ample parking space for ministers, all convenient facilities will be provided ,sources said.

Beginning of this year, the government had shared its decision about new parliament and stated that the current structure was "showing signs of distress and over-use".
