PM Modi To Visit South Africa

The PM will hold several meetings...


New Delhi: On Tuesday, 22 August 2023, PM Narendra Modi leaves for a four-day visit to South Africa and Greece.

PM Modi is all prepared to attend the 15th BRICS Summit in Johannesburg which is from August 22 to August 24 at the invitation of the country's president Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa.

PM Modi said that BRICS has been actively engaged in fostering a robust collaboration agenda across diverse sectors.

It serves as a platform to deliberate upon issues of significance for the Global South.

PM Modi said that he looks forward to doing bilateral meetings with "the leaders present in Johannesburg".

"BRICS is pursuing a strong cooperation agenda across a number of sectors.

We respect that BRICS gives a platform for discussing and finding solutions on issues of concern for the Global South, including development imperatives and reform of the multilateral system,” the PM said in an official statement.

BRICS is a group of the world economies of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
