PM Modi unveils new Gujarat Project

Prime minister Narendra Modi unveiled a new Gujarat project worth more than Rs.1k crore


Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled and laid the foundation stone of multiple projects at Sabar Dairy in the Sabarkantha district of poll-bound Gujarat. The project was unveiled on Thursday and the project is worth more than Rs 1,000 Crore. The Sabar Dairy is a part of the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) which also makes and markets the whole range of products under the Amul brand. The Prime Minister addressed the crowd as he said that the measures taken such as increasing ethanol blending in petrol will create new avenues for the framers. 

 

Addressing the gathering PM Modi said, “Until 2014, less than 40 crore litres of ethanol used to be blended in the country. Today, it has reached around 400 crore litres. Our government has also provided Kisan credit cards to more than three crore farmers by running a special campaign in the last two years”. 

 

The Prime Minister said that the new projects unveiled on Thursday would further empower the local farmers and milk producers. He said this will help increase their income and boost the rural economy in the region. PM Modi said, “Today, Sabar Dairy has expanded. New projects worth hundreds of crores are being set up here. Sabar Dairy capacity will increase further with the addition of milk powder plant with modern technology and one more line in the aseptic packing section”. 

 

Modi inaugurated the aseptic milk packaging plant at Sabar Dairy with a production capacity of a total of 3 Lakh litres per day. The project had been invested around Rs 125 crore. Modi also laid the foundation stone at the Sabar cheese and whey drying plant project at an estimated cost of Rs 600 crores.
