PM Narendra Modi to attend first 'Arun Jaitley Memorial Lecture'

PM Modi will also interact with the delegates participating in the Kautilya Economic Conclave


On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the first ‘Arun Jaitley Memorial Lecture’ (AJML) at 6.30 PM today in New Delhi. 


According to the information, The Prime Minister will also address the gathering during the event. The Department of Economic Affairs has organized the first ‘Arun Jaitley Memorial Lecture’ in recognition of his invaluable contribution to the nation.

 

The keynote address at the first ‘Arun Jaitley Memorial Lecture’ will be delivered by Senior Minister of Government of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam on ‘Growth through Inclusivity, Inclusivity through Growth’.


A panel discussion is also scheduled to take place after the lecture by Mathias Cormann, OECD Secretary-General and Arvind Panagriya, Professor at Columbia University during the event.


As per the information, Prime Minister Modi will also interact with the delegates participating in the Kautilya Economic Conclave (KEC), a three-day event being organized from today.

 

Eminent economists with whom the Prime Minister will meet include Ms. Anne Krueger of John Hopkins University, Mr. Nicholas Stern from London School of Economics, Mr Robert Lawrence from Harvard Kennedy School, former acting Managing Director of International Monetary Fund John Lipsky, and World Bank Country Director for India Junaid Ahmed among others.

 

KEC is being organised by the Institute of Economic Growth with support from the Ministry of Finance.
