PM Modi reacts to Nagrota clash


On a meeting held on Friday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and other ministers indicated that the terrorists killed in J&K a day before were planning “something big” before the arrival of the state’s local elections.

PM Modi tweeted “Our security forces once again displayed utmost bravery and professionalism. Thanks to their alertness they have defeated a nefarious plot to target grassroots level democratic exercises in Jammu Kashmir.”

The meeting was attended by foreign security and top intelligence officials. The security forces killed four suspected Jaish terrorists on Thursday who were hiding in a truck on the Jammu-Srinagar National highway near Nagrota. Two policemen were injured badly in the gunfight and they said that the terrorists were planning a big attack and they were heading toward the Kashmir valley where the local elections are due.

A large number of arms and ammunition were found in possession with the terrorists which included eleven AK-47 rifles, three pistols and 29 grenades.
