PM To Review the Situation Of Indians Stuck In Sudan

More than 300 people have been killed…

Khartoum, Sudan: On Friday, 21 April 2023, PM Narendra Modi will hold a high-level meeting to review the situation of Indians stuck in violence-hit Sudan, sources said.

On Thursday, India said the situation is "stressful" in Sudan and is focusing on the safety and well-being of the Indian community, including working on contingency plans and possible evacuation.

More than 300 people have been killed as the country's army and paramilitary forces battle, ignoring appeals by world powers for an end-of-Ramadan ceasefire.

Sudan’s capital Khartoum has seen some of the fighting with air strikes and tanks firing in densely packed districts, with most of its five million people sheltering at home in baking heat without electricity, food, or water.
