Police bust prostitution racket, 2 women held and 3 men arrested

Five people were arrested for running a high-profile prostitution racket, Rs 20,000 and 5 mobiles recovered from the women that is being analyzed


On October 29, the cops on receiving a top-off regarding prostitution at a hotel in Aerocity, a team led by SHO Yashpal Singh was formed and a raid was conducted. Five people were arrested including 2 women on charges of running a high-profile prostitution racket. Those two women were arrested in the hotel where they had come to meet their client. Among those who were arrested the kingpin of the gang who has been identified as Mohammad Javed Ali, 40-year-old and a resident of Chhatarpur Enclave said DCP (airport) Amit Goel.

“A room was found booked that was visited by the two women. Women cops and other members of the team apprehended them. During questioning, they disclosed that they were in contact with brokers named Johney Bhandari and Rajat Gupta,” DCP Goel said.

The two women, who were in their early twenties informed the police that the middle men had brokered the deal and that they were instructed to reach the hotel room. After arresting two middlemen, they led the police to the mastermind Ali. As per reports, Ali operated under the alias of Vicky and was in touch with many brokers of the country through WhatsApp group. He was sending women to other states as well.

The cops have recovered an amount of Rs 20,000 from the women along with 5 mobile phones that are being examined. On October 30, an FIR was also registered under sections 4 and 5 of the Immoral Trafficking and Prevention Act. The arrested people have been produced before the court while the investigation is still underway and a search is being conducted to track the other members of the organization.
