On December 3 all government schools will remain closed due to polling for Municipal corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections. The elections will be held on December 4 in view of preparation, the Directorate of Education said on Friday.

Saturday, December 3 declared a kos a holiday in schools on account of polling preparation of Delhi MCD elections 2022, All heads of government schools of Directorate of Education are informed. The Directorate of Education (DoE) stated in a circular.

In a notice, MCD stated that all MCD schools will be remain closed on December 3 and December 5 due to long hours of duty, the day after the election day is also going to be treated as “period on election duty”.

School staff deployed for election duty, almost 90 percent, MCD heads of all schools are hereby directed to close schools for students on December 5, it said. However, the available teachers will take online classes on December 5, according to the notice and a senior MCD official. Almost 13,638 polling station have been set up all across Delhi for the civic elections, according to the State Election Commission.
