UP elections to take place in Seven Phases


Priyanka Maurya, the face of Priyanka Gandhi's flagship campaign, "Ladki Hun Lad Sakti Hun"(I'm a girl and I can fight) is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). 

As per the statement given by Priyanka Maurya, she claimed, "irregularities in the ticket distribution" she was denied a ticket to contest in the Uttar Pradesh elections. She says, "Ladki hu lad Sakti hu" is a slogan but congress didn't give me a chance to fight.

Priyanka Maurya is the vice president of the women's wing of congress in the Uttar Pradesh state. She was seen present in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Lucknow on Wednesday. 

As per the information, it was asked whether she would join the party to which she replied "probably yes" further said I have worked a lot in the field but ticket distribution was pre-planned. I was not given a ticket, but I was a deserving candidate." She claimed and ANI quoted her as saying.

Congress was holding a marathon rally across the state as a part of the campaign," Ladki hu lad Sakti hu" But due to overcrowding and inappropriate Covid behavior and social distancing was seen in a rally at Bareilly after the visuals went viral over social media.

Congress cancelled the rallies ahead of the peak in the cases of Covid-19 which could create a deadly scenario. However, the rallies are now on hold because the election commission (EC) has banned physical rallies because of the Covid-19 peak.

The Uttar Pradesh elections are about to take place in seven Phases. The elections will begin from February 10 to March 7.  Meanwhile, the counting will take place on March 10.
