As the farmers protest going to complete 3 weeks at the Singhu Border against the Centre's new farm laws where the farmers will observe a daylong hunger strike on Monday. The hunger strike from 8 am to 5 pm is part of the farmers' plan to intensify their agitation from Monday, taking a serious step against the new farm law.

Earlier, Amarinder Singh Chief Minister of Punjab had named his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal's statement of observing a fast on Monday as "theatrics". Amarinder stated that the government of the National capital had "backstabbed" the farmers by "shamelessly" notifying one of the farm laws on November 23.

Arvind Kejriwal responded to Amarinder Singh's statement by saying that he has been standing with the farmers' support since the beginning of the protest and that is why did not let the Centre turn nine stadiums into temporary jail when the farmers had started gathering on the Delhi borders titled as ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest.
