Preparations for Covid-19 third wave, to train 5,000 youth as a health assistant, says Delhi CM


The National Capital has seen a surge in Covid-19 cases in the second wave of Covid-19 where Delhi was seen gasping for oxygen and other medical resources. In order not to repeat  horrific situation again, preparation for the third wave is going on. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Wednesday announced that 5,000 youth will be trained as health assistance to meet the shortage of medical staff.

According to the report by PTI, it said that Kejriwal said that these youths will be accorded basic Nursing Home care and first aid training including reading oxygen levels, vaccinating and so on. The health assistance or the community nursing assistants will be imparted 2 weeks basic training, Adding that it also said that in the first second wave we saw a shortage of Medical and Pharmaceutical staff.  So, the Government has an ambitious plan to prepare 5,000 health assistants, 5,000 youths will be trained by IP University for two weeks each .They will be given basic training at Delhi's 9 major Medical Institute. Further adding more it said that " They will work as doctors and nurses, assistants. They will be given basic training in nursing, paramedics, life-saving, first -aid and home care." The Chief Minister also said that they will be paid according to the number of days they work.

The online applications will be available from June 17 while the training will commence on 28 June. Candidates should have cleared class 12 th and must be 18 or above.
