President Kovind, PM Modi Pays Tribute to BR Ambedkar on his Death Anniversary

On Monday, President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a floral tribute to Dr. BR Ambedkar on his 65th Death anniversary.


According to the statement, PM said his thoughts and ideals continue to give strength to millions. PM also tweeted "Remembering the great Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on Mahaparinirvan Diwas. His thoughts and ideals continue to give strength to millions. We are committed to fulfilling the dreams he had for our nation," 


As per the information, many other leaders, Vice president Venkaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Leader of opposition (LoP) in Rajya sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and other parliamentarians were present today and they paid tribute to the architect of the constitution and his statue in the parliament.


Dr. BR Ambedkar was conferred with the Bharat Ratna award in 1990, which is India's highest civilian award. Babasaheb Ambedkar fought relentlessly against social discrimination towards the untouchables and upliftment of the lower castes.


He was born on April 14, 1891; Dr. Ambedkar was a jurist, economist, politician, and social reformer. Popularly known as Babasaheb, Ambedkar donned several hats and contributed immensely towards shaping the first draft of the constitution. The death anniversary of  Dr. Ambedkar is also known as Mahaparinirvan Diwas.
