President Ram Nath Kovind on eve on 72nd Republic Day extended his warmest greetings to all the citizens, instilling the spirit of nationhood and patriotism among all. On Monday, he addressed the nation highlighting the contribution of Indian farmers, Soldiers and scientists in development, protection and prosperity of the nation. India today will celebrate the 72nd anniversary of Indian constitution and feelings and sentiments that bind us together.

"The farmers, soldiers and scientists deserve special appreciation and we are grateful to their service towards this nation," he said. The President attributed that farmers and soldiers ensure food and border security of the nation and should be recipients of amicable respect and honour. "Our doctors, soldiers, health workers, scientists and people from other walks of life have been warriors in these times of struggle and made tremendous contributions in containing the virus, keeping severities under control compared to developed countries." Referring to the farmers protesting on borders of national capital, he said that citizens are concerned about issues of farmers.

"No Indian can forget or neglect the indispensable and incredible contribution of farmers in growth of our economy, making us self-reliant in food and dairy products. Amid the adverse circumstances of COVID 19 pandemic, farmers sustained agriculture production," he highlighted in the context of farmers. Farmers who form the backbone of our nation, making agriculture a major contributor in GDP should deserve respect and regards. For Indian soldiers he asserted, "Braving the ravages of chilling and biting cold in Siachen and Galwan Valley in Ladakh where temperatures stoop down to -50°C to -60°C to unbearable heat in Jaisalmer where temperature sore to 50°C, our soldiers are vigilant and determined to safeguard the nation without having any second thought before sacrificing their lives. Their valour deserves our whole hearted salute."

In his address, the President started with, "Greetings on this auspicious occasion of pride, our 72nd Republic Day which marks the birth of the world's greatest democracy India. Our motherland is home for diverse cultures, religions and beliefs. But these national festivals celebrate our collective identity as Indians with great political fervour." On this day we should reminisce about the core values of the constitution namely- Equality, Fraternity, Justice, Liberty and Equity
