Bill states - every resident of the state will have the right to emergency treatment and care "without prepayment"....

Rajasthan: On Tuesday private doctors decided to call off protests over the Right to Health Bill after reaching a consensus with the government. The Indian Medical Associations of Rajasthan's branch made the announcement.

"After signing of MOU by IMA Rajasthan, UPCHAR AND PHNHS with the state government regarding RTH, which has excluded almost 97 to 98 % of private hospitals from the ambit of the RTH Bill, the state working committee of IMA Rajasthan unanimously decided to call off the strike of private hospitals from 8 pm today," the statement read.

Since March 28 private doctors have been demanding the withdrawal of the bill which was passed in the state assembly in Rajasthan.

According to the bill, every resident of the state will have the right to emergency treatment and care "without prepayment" in any "public health institution, health care establishment and designated health care centers".

On Tuesday morning, a panel of private doctors along with the medical association members met with the chief secretary and principal secretaries. At around 5 am, by the evening they agreed to call off the protest.
