Priyanka Gandhi takes dig at BJP over "ripped jeans" remark; posts photo of PM Modi in shorts

Priyanka Gandhi took a dig at BJP by posting pictures of various BJP leaders in shorts, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday joined several others who have criticized the "ripped jeans" related comments made by the newly appointed Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Tirath Singh Rawat, by posting pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in shorts.

Ms Gandhi took a dig at BJP by posting pictures of various BJP leaders in white shirts and khaki half pants, the old uniform of party's ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Twitter and captioned it "Oh my God!!! Their knees are showing." The pictures tweeted include Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat who can be seen wearing khaki shorts above their knees.

Mr Rawat had made controversial comments on Tuesday by saying that women who wear "ripped jeans" set a "bad example" for children and the society. Congress leader Alka Lamba also hit back at Mr Rawat and demanded immediate apology from him. "The Congress strongly condemns this kind of thinking towards women. We demand that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should ask the Uttarakhand Chief Minister to apologize immediately," she said
