Punjab Government allows reopening of schools for class 10 -12 after the second wave of Covid 19


Punjab Government allows reopening of schools for class 10 -12 from today. Only fully vaccinated teachers and non-teaching staff will be allowed to attend the school in person. With Covid-19 cases declining in Punjab, the government has decided to reopen its school for students of class 10 -12. Meanwhile, education has been impacted badly, the educational institutions have been closed for more than a year. 

On Sunday, the state education department issued a detailed document on guidelines to be followed by the heads of such educational institutions. As per the guidelines "only fully vaccinated teachers and non-teaching staff will be allowed to attend the school in person. Besides, children who want to attend physical classes will have to give written parental consent. Whereas online classes will continue as usual. 

According to the statement of Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh if the pandemic is under control in the coming weeks, the remaining classes will also be allowed to open from August 2. Whereas a "Covid link" has been activated on the ePunjab Portal, where teachers have to update daily. It will consist of  Data of all students/teachers who test positive and get vaccinated. Whereas schools that have been turned into a Covid-19 care centre have been instructed to sanitise before opening.

Meanwhile, staff and students belonging to containment zones will not be permitted to enter school and other educational institutions, until the containment zone is denotified.
