Punjab School reopens from August, 02

Punjab school reopens from Monday, will start conducting physical classes right from pre-primary, earlier Vijay Inder Singla School Education Minister stated.


The government had given permission for holding physical classes 10 to 12 from July 26. On Saturday, the government had approved the reopening of schools from August 2 as it further eases on Covid protocols in the wake of declining cases.“Following the approval of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh in view of the present Covid situation, the Education Department is all set to reopen schools for all classes from August 2 onwards,” said Singla in an official statement here. The Minister said that the duration of schools will remain the same, which is from 8 am to 2 pm as usual. Singla also stated about the procedure of teaching like, the restarting of schools will also provide an opportunity to schools and teachers to teach the practical subjects in a better way by conducting practical classes rather than virtual classes, the minister added.

Singla also directed the department officials and school management to ensure hygiene of classrooms, library, and playing ground and follow COVID-19 protocols. The Minister directed the district education officers to ensure complete vaccination of the whole staff before allowing them to conduct physical classes. He also stated that random testing will also take place in schools with the ratio of 100:1 students and reviewing the situation of school on a weekly basis.
