Quad to Hold Ministerial Meet Today Joe Biden Renews Mini NATO With India Despite China Pressure

The United States has announced that it will go to a 'Quad' meeting with Australia, India, and Japan on Thursday. Biden has given a stern warning to the Chinese dragon by announcing to pursue 'Mini-NATO'. The US State Department has said that Foreign Minister Antony Blinken will hold a virtual meeting with the foreign ministers of Australia, India, and Japan. She said that the Corona epidemic and climate change will be discussed during this meeting. The ministry said in its statement, "Discussions with Quad Foreign Ministers are very important to move towards the common goal of creating a free and independent Indo-Pacific and to meet the important challenges emerging in our time.

In 2007, the then Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, gave the idea of the Quad to clamp down on China. Through this, he was looking for partners against China. Initially, India and Australia were reluctant to take the enemy from China, but later both countries came together. The Quad countries conducted naval exercises in the Bay of Bengal in November.

Earlier, the Chinese state-run Global Times warned that they are making a 'serious strategic mistake' by advancing the Biden Quad. He said that this could lead to a serious strategic dispute with China. Amid military tension in Ladakh, China's official newspaper Global Times continues to threaten India. concurrently, the edict is that India should stay away from the Quad and follow its policy of non-alignment. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who never tired of making fun of the Quad, has named the organization Indo-Pacific NATO.

Wang Yi has alleged that the US is militarizing the region which could have fatal consequences. He said that strategic cooperation between the US, Japan, Australia, and India is part of Washington's efforts to build Indo-Pacific NATO. The Chinese minister warned that this initiative would undermine regional security. Wang Yi had earlier said that Quad is an idea thrown in the garbage and has always made fun of Quad before. This idea will get finished on its own like sea foam. Nevertheless, in the second meeting of this organization, China's senses are blown by the positive attitude of the member countries.

The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad) was started in the year 2007. However, it emerged in the year 2004–2005 when India extended a helping hand in the aftermath of the tsunami that hit many countries in Southeast Asia. Four countries in the Quad comprise the United States, Japan, Australia, and India. In March, the Quad also had a meeting regarding the coronavirus. For the first time in this, New Zealand, D. Korea, and Vietnam also joined.
