Rahul Gandhi’s social media campaign to counter hate.

To build up the opposition strong and increase its reach Congress has started the social media campaigning.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the 'Join Congress Social Media' campaign would fight hatred and "defend India's ideology".Congress on Monday launched the 'Join Congress Social Media' campaign with the aim of having five lakh heroes online. This action is seen as a congressional effort by the Congress party to capture the powerful IT cell of BJP.

Responding to this, Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter and urged everyone to be part of the campaign. The country needs non-violent heroes to fight for truth, compassion and harmony, Rahul Gandhi said in a video message broadcast during the launch of the campaign. "India needs non-violent heroes to fight for truth, compassion and harmony. It is central to defending India's vision. Come on, #JoinCongressSocialMedia in this war. India needs you!," Rahul said, along with a video message.

In his video message, Rahul Gandhi said, "As a young person you know what's going on. There's nothing hidden from you, your schools, colleges and universities, you see the oppression, you can see the attack on the idea of India." "Look outside Delhi, you can see what is happening to the farmers. The backbone of this war in the nation is a leading army. Thousands of people spread hatred and resentment and are paid to do so.

"Come and join this army. This is not an army of hatred, this is not an army of violence, this is a real army and this is a force that will defend the mind of India. Rahul Gandhi's campaign and invitation to the event comes amid a host of leaders who want to return as the party's king. Launching the campaign with AICC communications head Rohan Gupta and party spokesman Pawan Khera, AICC (Administration) chief Pawan Kumar Bansal at a press conference said the aim was to have five lakh social media "heroes".

Rohan Gupta, in his remarks, pointed out that the Modi government is afraid of social media and "gives young people the opportunity to raise their voices". People can join the campaign through the party's website, toll free or via WhatsApp, said Rohan Gupta, who took over as chair of Congress Communications in September 2019. The department was previously led by Divya Spandana. Responding to a question, he said the campaign would be about volunteering only as a concept, to ensure that those connected to Congress or its ideology needed to be mobilized in order to raise their voice together.

"We know that today there are trolls, which use social media. We have to oppose them and show the truth to the people. We cannot allow the negative narrative to be built in India," Rohan Gupta said. There are a lot of false stories and it is a big problem, Rohan Gupta said. "We need to fight this with human power. So that's the whole idea that when five lakh people, they come together, obviously, no one can ignore their voice, that's the basic idea of this campaign," he further added.

He said that the party would take the campaign to the people for a month and invite them. Then there will be a basic interview in all provinces and "we will give responsibilities accordingly," Rohan Gupta said. People can work at different levels - regionally, governmentally and nationally - and they will be given the right jobs, Gupta said.

After a month of negotiations those who do well will be given training, added Rohan Gupta. In his speech, Pawan Khera said that when the BJP came to power in 2014, many criticized Congress for not being on social media, and when the party started working on social media, many said it was not down, but now "we are in both".
