Firth Phase Of UP Assembly Polls Falls On Feb 27!


Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit Uttar Pradesh's Amethi and Prayagraj to campaign today (Friday). Congress leaders' visit came ahead of the fifth phase of the polling in the Uttar Pradesh elections. The polling is scheduled to fall on February 27 (Sunday).


This will be his first campaign tour of Uttar Pradesh since December, while he has been part of 30 election-related programs in Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand, and Manipur.


He last visited Amethi and Rae Bareli with his sister and Congress’ Uttar Pradesh in-charge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on December 18. They participated in a six-kilo meter foot march to launch the party’s election campaign.


With the campaigning for the fifth phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections scheduled to end today, several top leaders from the BJP and other parties are scheduled to hold rallies in the state today.

 

60 assembly seats of the 11 districts of Amethi, Ayodhya, Bahraich, Barabanki, Chitrakoot, Gonda, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Shrawasti, and Sultanpur will vote on Sunday.


On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Congress for practicing dynastic politics. Speaking at a rally in Amethi, he said, “Parivarvaadis are so far from ground reality that they cannot see what is happening on the ground.

 

They want to come in authority to increase their family’s power and rule over you like kings. Our power is not bahubali/mafia, but UP public.”


Ahead of the assembly polls many leaders and members of the other parties are gearing up. The elections are being conducted in the five states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Goa, and Punjab.

 

Whereas the elections are being conducted in seven Phases and the three phases of polling are left and the counting of votes will take place on March 10.
