Rahul Tewatia: The Undeterred batsman smashed 5 sixes in an over

Overnight Fame for Rahul Tewatia

The night of 27 September will be marked in golden letters for young and inspiring cricketers
like Tewatia whose sensational efforts paved the way for victory of Rajasthan Royals against
Kings XI Punjab by four wickets. This incredibility goes in the name of teamwork but still the
charm lies in hands of Rahul, Smith and Samson.
"The dugout knows I can hit the ball long. I knew I had to believe in myself. It was a matter of
one six. ", the 27 year old Tewatia said after the win highlighting his struggle to score at the start
of his batting. However, All's well that ends well. But this ended quite heart wrenching for Kings
and stunned the fans. And again IPL maintained its glow to turn the blow even at the last ball.
The score board 6,6,6,6,0,6 was reminiscent of Yuvraj's six sixes in an over. We can proudly
infer that Indian cricket was and will always be in good hands.

In this 9th match of the season the target of 224 appeared quite difficult to chase but the supreme
efforts of Smith, Sanju and Tewatia proved the existence of possibility in every field. Smith hit a
quickfire 50 off 27 balls and Samson top scored with 85. Tewatia was quite low key at the start
with 8 runs on 19 balls but soon turned the tables in 18th over with jaw dropping performance of
53 runs on 31 balls. Not only the largest win in this tournament till now but also Royals chased
the biggest target of season.
All time legend Sachin Tendulkar appreciated the players by tweeting "Terrific batting by
@rajasthanroyals’ batsmen Smith, Sanju & Tewatia to chase this mega total. They kept their
cool and accelerated beautifully. Surprised how the @lionsdenkxip fast bowlers didn’t bowl
many yorkers and also failed to use M Ashwin enough. #RRvKXIP #IPL2020". Yuvraj Singh was
quite threatened by Tewatia and amusingly thanked the cricketer for sustaining his record and
missing one ball. Shane Warne and Akash Chopra also applauded the win. Such lip biting wins
are awaited ahead and gear up for big match tonight between Mumbai Indians and Royal
Challengers Bangalore at 7:30.
